چکیده
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a life-threatening complication, especially in case of recurrence. The appropriate duration anticoagulant treatment following the first event crucial. Risk factors that increase risk recurrence VTE are many, and include medications, kidney disease, renal transplantation (RT), diagnosis sickle cell disease (SCD). There currently no guidelines define therapy after patient with RT. We report recurring episodes RT SCD patient. Our suggests use long-term may be recommended patients VTE.

Hemoglobin S in homozygous state or in combination with one of the structural variants of Hb D-Punjab, Hb O-Arab, Hb C or β-thalassemia mutation results in sickle cell disease (SCD) that is characterized by chronic hemolytic anemia and tissue injury secondary to vasooclusion. A chronic hypercoagulable state in SCD has been established with the increased risk of thromboembolic complications in t...

enal manifestations in sickle cell disease (SCD) occur in onehird of adolescents and young adults.1 These manifestations ccur because the kidney is sensitive to hypoxia-induced vasocclusion resulting from the adhesion of sickled red blood cells o the endothelium.2,3 The renal medulla is characterized by cidosis, hypertension, and hypoxia. These factors promote he polymerization and sickling of ...

Thromb Haemost 2008; 99: 655–656 Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) and deep venous thrombosis (DVT) are pathophysiologically linked manifestations of the same disease, but their natural course, prognosis, and therapeutic management are quite different in clinical practice. Clearly, the risk of death related to the initial acute episode is higher in patients who present with PE than in those with DV...
متن کاملRecurrent venous thromboembolism.
A previous venous thromboembolism is the most important risk factor for predicting recurrence of the condition. Several studies have shown that routine testing for inherited thrombophilias is not helpful in predicting the risk of recurrence or altering treatment decisions, and therefore is not cost-effective. Updated practice guidelines from the American College of Chest Physicians shift the fo...
متن کاملRecurrent light and heavy chain deposition disease after renal transplantation.
Light and heavy chain deposition disease (LHCDD) is a rare entity with less than two dozen reported cases [1,2]. The term LHCDD was proposed in 1984 as a variant of light chain deposition disease (LCDD), to characterize a subset of patients in whom deposits contain both light and heavy chain antigenic determinants. We present a case of LHCDD in a renal graft and evidence that this process repre...
